Questions
Middle East & North Africa eSIM FAQ
Do I need a new plan when I cross a border?
No. One regional eSIM keeps working in every covered country; your phone picks a local partner network automatically. Validity and data are shared across the whole trip.
Does my phone support eSIM?
Most phones from 2018 onwards do: iPhone XR/XS and newer, Pixel 3 and newer, Galaxy S20 and newer, and many others. The phone must also be carrier-unlocked. Check your model, or dial *#06# and look for an EID line.
When does the plan start?
Most plans start when the eSIM first connects to a network at your destination, so you can install it days before you travel. A few start at installation; each plan says which on its card.
When do I receive the eSIM?
Immediately after payment: on the confirmation page, by email, and under My eSIMs. Install it on Wi-Fi before you fly.
Can I keep my WhatsApp number?
Yes. WhatsApp stays tied to your usual number; the eSIM only provides the data. Keep your main SIM on for calls and SMS if you need them.
Can I share the data (hotspot)?
Hotspot and tethering work on the large majority of plans. Where an operator restricts it, the plan details say so.
