Before you install
Four checks that prevent most problems
- 1Your phone supports eSIMMost phones since 2018 do. Check your model, or dial *#06# and look for an EID line.
- 2Your phone is unlockedA phone bought on a carrier contract can be locked to that carrier; then a travel eSIM never connects. iPhone: Settings › General › About › Carrier Lock should say No SIM restrictions.
- 3You are on Wi-FiDownloading the profile needs a stable connection. Do it at home or at the hotel, not at the gate.
- 4Install once, on the right phoneA QR code installs one profile on one phone. Do not install to test on a phone that will not travel.
Troubleshooting
If something is off
The QR code will not scan
Use the manual option instead: Add eSIM › Enter details manually, then type the SM-DP+ address and activation code from your order page. Both are also in your email.
Installed, but no internet after landing
Turn on Data Roaming for the Roamline line and make sure it is the line selected for mobile data. Then toggle airplane mode on and off. If there is still no signal after a few minutes, pick a supported network manually in the network settings.
“This code is no longer valid”
The profile is already installed on a phone; a QR code works once. If it is on this phone, look for the line under your SIM settings. If it was on a phone you no longer have, write to us.
My phone is locked to a carrier
A carrier-locked phone installs the profile but never connects. Ask your carrier for an unlock; an unused eSIM can be refunded within 30 days.
It worked, then stopped
Check the data left in your account; a finished package needs a top-up. Indoors or in a crowd, switching network manually often helps.
I bought with the wrong email
Write to support from the address you used at checkout with the order number; we move the order to the right account.
Questions
Frequently asked
What is an eSIM?
A digital SIM built into your phone. Instead of swapping a plastic card you scan a QR code; the travel plan installs next to your usual SIM, which keeps working for calls and messages.
Does my phone support eSIM?
Most phones from 2018 onwards do: iPhone XR/XS and newer, Pixel 3 and newer, Galaxy S20 and newer, and many others. The phone must also be carrier-unlocked. Check your model, or dial *#06# and look for an EID line.
When does the plan start?
Most plans start when the eSIM first connects to a network at your destination, so you can install it days before you travel. A few start at installation; each plan says which on its card.
When do I receive the eSIM?
Immediately after payment: on the confirmation page, by email, and under My eSIMs. Install it on Wi-Fi before you fly.
Can I keep my WhatsApp number?
Yes. WhatsApp stays tied to your usual number; the eSIM only provides the data. Keep your main SIM on for calls and SMS if you need them.
Can I share the data (hotspot)?
Hotspot and tethering work on the large majority of plans. Where an operator restricts it, the plan details say so.
What if the data runs out?
Top up from My eSIMs in a few taps; the new package queues behind the current one, nothing to reinstall. We also email you at 80% usage.
Can I get a refund?
If an eSIM cannot be issued we refund the card automatically. An eSIM that was never installed can be refunded within 30 days of purchase. Once installed, data plans are non-refundable, as with any prepaid SIM. See the refund policy.
Can I use the eSIM for calls?
Most plans are data only. Calls and messages keep working on your usual SIM, and apps such as WhatsApp, FaceTime or Teams work over the eSIM data. Plans that include minutes or SMS say so on their card.
Can I reuse the eSIM on my next trip?
Yes, where the operator offers top-ups: keep the profile installed and add a new package from My eSIMs before you travel again. If no top-up is available, buy a new eSIM and delete the old profile.
Do you charge VAT or other taxes?
Prices are final. Where a tax applies it is included in the price you see at checkout.
